Samsung Galaxy S22 gave way to the iPhone three years ago

Released in 2019, the Apple smartphone turned out to be more powerful than the new Samsung flagship. It is reported by the publication ZDNet.

The journalists of the publication refer to a study by the German blog Computer Base, whose authors tested the performance of various processors in the benchmark. From the GFXBench test, it followed that the most powerful chip in the top was the Apple M1, used in computers and tablets – it scored 82.3 points. The second position was taken by the Apple A15 Bionic, which is found in the top iPhone 13 – 53.4 points.

The Apple A13 Bionic, which is used in the iPhone 11, scored 33.9. At the same time, the Exynos 2200 chip, which is used in the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 +, scored less – only 33 points. Thus, synthetic tests showed that the new Samsung flagships were inferior in performance to the iPhone three years ago.

At the same time, the version of the Exynos 2200 processor, which is used in the flagship Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, received 34 points and was slightly ahead of the Apple A13 Bionic chip.

“CPU and GPU performance matters in many situations, and it’s a little strange that a chip in an Android flagship device can be beaten by a processor designed by Apple in 2019,” the journalists noted. The authors emphasized that this shortcoming of the new Samsung flagships is quite critical, since it cannot be fixed with updates.

In mid-February, PCMag journalists compared the power of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max in benchmarks. It turned out that the Apple smartphone, released in the fall of 2021, turned out to be more powerful than the new Samsung flagship.
