The life of Samsung smartphones has increased

Samsung has promised continuous update support for its smartphones. This is reported by The Verge.

Representatives of the company announced this during the presentation of the brand’s new flagships. In a message to reporters, Samsung executives said that their flagships will receive up to four generations of the Android OS. Thus, new versions of the operating system from Google will come to devices of the Galaxy S22 series for at least four years.

“Now, millions of Galaxy owners can enjoy the latest security features, performance and other exciting new options for longer,” the brand said. The company clarified that they will increase the life of all devices of the new series – Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 + and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The journalists noticed that the company can extend this practice to its other smartphones, but does not guarantee this. “Availability and timing of Android OS updates and features may vary by device model and market,” the company’s website states. The authors also compared Samsung’s innovation with Google’s decision that its Pixel flagships would receive updates for up to five years – but new versions of Android would appear only for three years.

On February 9, Samsung announced a new line of flagship smartphones Galaxy S22. The most expensive device in the series was the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which in Russia was estimated at 155 thousand rubles.
