Named the most popular smartphone manufacturers

Apple was the most popular smartphone manufacturer in the world at the end of 2021. This is stated in the report of the agency Canalys.

Agency specialists summed up the results for the fourth quarter of last year. According to its results, Apple put the most smartphones on the market – its share was 22 percent. The situation is due to increased demand for the iPhone 13 and discounts on Apple phones in China. In second position was Samsung, which received a share of 20 percent.

The top 5 also includes Xiaomi – a share of 12 percent, Oppo – 9 percent, Vivo – 8 percent. At the end of 2020, Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi were also considered the most popular smartphone manufacturer, which received shares of 23, 17 and 12 percent, respectively.

“Supply chain disruptions have hit small suppliers the most,” said Canalys Vice President Nicole Peng. According to her, problems with the supply of components for the release of smartphones will remain relevant until at least mid-2022.

“Apple’s supply chain is starting to recover, but the company was still forced to cut production in the fourth quarter due to a shortage of key components and was unable to produce enough iPhones to meet demand,” experts assessed the leadership of the American company.

In November, TrendForce analysts said that in 2022, smartphone production will return to pre-pandemic levels. Smartphone production is expected to reach 1.39 billion units.
