Google foldable smartphone price revealed

Google’s foldable smartphone will be an affordable competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, according to 9to5google.

Journalists refer to a message from a source familiar with the company’s plans. According to an insider, the American corporation is currently developing its first foldable smartphone. In the disclosed data, the device appears under the name Google Notepad, but the company may choose a different name before the device enters the market.

The future device will receive two halves connected by a hinge, a flexible display will be located inside. The smartphone will fold vertically. The source also reported the approximate cost of Google Notepad. According to him, the device will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, which entered the market in the summer of 2021 and was priced at $1,800. The author noted that the device from Google will be cheaper.

Experts positively greeted the news about the cost of the device. “For a first-generation device, this is a rather unexpected price, as Samsung’s first foldable model cost just under $2,000,” the authors noted. In response to a request from journalists, Google replied that they do not comment on rumors.

Google’s possible entry into the foldable smartphone market has been repeatedly reported. In November 2021, Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young stated that the company does not plan to release a device with a flexible screen anytime soon.
