“Monobrow” on the MacBook Pro screen explained

“Monobrow” on the MacBook Pro screen appeared for marketing reasons. This is reported by the publication Digital Trends.

Media reporters analyzed the new Apple computers, emphasizing the presence of an iPhone-style display cutout. According to the authors, the purpose of the “monobrow” is unclear and the company could not clearly explain its presence. Experts noted that a cutout is necessary in smartphones, since it contains a biometric sensor, but in Apple computers, only a webcam is located in the “monobrow”.

“To an outside observer, it seems that the notch is mainly intended to make the bezels of the screen thinner,” the note says. However, journalists believe that the presence of such a controversial element is due to marketing reasons.

The authors noted that Apple was repeatedly criticized for the “monobrow” that appeared in the iPhone X, but this element remained until the iPhone 13. “Nevertheless, despite all the ridicule and wringing of hands, the cutout was undoubtedly recognizable,” the experts emphasized. According to them, this is how the company’s designers draw attention to the product.

Due to the fact that the cutout has appeared in computers, Apple will not abandon it in its smartphones in the future. “We’ve heard recent talk that the company is working on under-screen Face ID, but it’s still a long way off,” the journalists concluded.

Apple introduced the MacBook Pro monobrow computers on October 18th. The new devices are powered by the advanced M1 Pro and M1 Max processors.
