Health withdraws a drug used against cystitis because it contains more ethylene oxide than allowed

The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS), dependent on the Ministry of Health, has recalled a batch of Ellura hard capsules, used against cystitis.

The order has been given to lot NO205802, with an expiration date of August 31, 2023, Due to the fact that it presents a higher quantity of ethylene oxide than allowed in the tablets.

This purified cranberry drug used to prevent recurrent cystitis is marketed by the French laboratory Pharmatoka, although in our country it is distributed by Adventia Pharma, based in the Canary Islands.

As reported by the health agency in a statement, all the distributed units have already been withdrawn from the market and they have been returned to the laboratory with a follow-up to verify that the process is being complied with.
