A smartphone with a replaceable lens? Realme showed an unusual prototype

At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Realme presented a smartphone to which a professional lens can be poured. Realme Ultra is a prototype for now, but the brand does not rule out that the near future will go to the market.

A smartphone with a camera or a camera with a smartphone? As the Chinese producer explains, the prototype Realme Ultra is to transfer mobile photography to a new level. The smartphone is equipped with Sony 1-inch matrix and lens mounting systemwhich allows the user to connect DSLR lenses directly to the device.

Exchangeable lenses with the future of mobile photography? We can connect to the Realme smartphone, for example, a lens Portrait 73 mm or 234 mm telephoto lens. During the presentation, the company showed differences in the quality of photos taken with a prototype device and those from the latest iPhone 16 Pro.

Our comment. Of course, in such a prepared test, the Realme Prototype turned out to be an undoubted winner. The photos were characterized by more depth and better color reproduction than iPhone frames. The problem is that virtually every smartphone on the market with professional lens He will defeat the device that does not have such a lens. Therefore, these types of comparisons do not make much sense.

What else did Realme show? During the MWC 2025 fair in Barcelona, the European premiere of smartphones was also held Realme 14 Pro and Realme 14 Pro+. These are two “medium -sized” that are to stand out from the competition with a good value for money.
