This is how you can see deleted messages from others on Messenger

A notification comes from Messenger, you see a fragment of messages, but when you open the application, there is no way after the text. Someone has removed what he wrote. However, there are ways to read such messages after all.

Since Facebook has introduced the ability to delete sent messages, many users use this option when they write something too hastily or make a mistake in a word. They think that when the message disappears from the chat, nobody will see it anymore. However, the reality is different – the phone can remember the content that someone tried to hide.

The “Delete for everyone” function has its limits

Few people know that our Android remembers all notifications that appear on the screen. This applies not only to Messenger, but all applications – from messengers, YouTube, Spotify or Maps. To look into this hidden function:

  • Open Settings on your phone
  • Go to the section Notifications
  • Choose Notification history (may be in the tab Advanced)
  • If the option was previously enabled, you will see the notifications saved, including the content of deleted messages from Messenger

This trick will only work when the notification history was previously included. However, on most phones this option is included in factory. If it is different for you, just move the switching and off slider that is on top.

This feature is temporarily limited

There is one hook – Android holds the notification history for only 24 hours (although this time may be longer on some phone models). If you have installed a special application, you can have access to these messages all the time. Such programs as Notisave or Notification History Log, which you will find in the Google store, save each notification permanently.
