The Motorola Moto G200, which I had the opportunity to test in recent weeks, may, however, change my optics. The producer placed here both for top performance and a very attractive price. Is Moto G200 equipment worth buying? Let’s find out.
APPEARANCE
Design is perhaps the most compromising element Moto G200, which distinguishes this device from the so-called flagships. The housing remained made entirely of plastic. This does not mean, however, that the Moto G200 is an ugly smartphone. On the contrary! The semi-matte and translucent layer on the back of the device makes an excellent impression.
It also looks interesting islet with the main camera lenses, which smoothly goes into the plane of the housing. Unfortunately, this solution – although visually attractive – has its main disadvantage. A smartphone placed on a flat surface will wobble mercilessly.
Moto G200 is equipped with a fingerprint reader located on the right edge of the housing. Personally, I am a supporter of scanners installed under the smartphone screen, but I know that it is a matter of taste. The reader itself works quickly and smoothly.
Motorola’s smartphone meets IP52 standard and is resistant to catch. We will not find the IP67 standard here, which means that the device should not be submerged in water. It is also a slight disappointment no 3.5mm audio output and stereo speaker. The mono speaker located on the lower edge sounds quite average and will only be useful in emergency situations.
DISPLAY
Moto G200 has a screen diagonal 6,8 cala i FHD + (2460 x 1080) resolution. The manufacturer has applied here panel IPS (396 PPI). This is another compromise for most flagships that have organic AMOLED matrices. How does the display work in practice?
Color reproduction and contrast are good, although we can unfortunately forget about deep black from OLED matrices. Perhaps the worst is the maximum brightness, which – even for an IPS screen – is at a disappointingly low level.
Moto G200 however, he has an ace up his sleeve. It is ultra-high refresh rate at the level 144 Hz. In this aspect, the Motorola smartphone wins with almost all flagships on the market, whose displays offer refreshing at the level of 90 or 120 Hz.
PERFORMANCE
The Moto G200 is a real beast of performance. The smartphone is equipped with a system Snapdragon 888+, which immediately makes it one of the fastest devices on the market. We also have available here 8 GB RAM and 128 GB quick memory UFS 3.1. (unfortunately we can’t extend it).
In the AnTuTu 9 benchmark, the smartphone won 760 648 points and turned out to be better than devices such as Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, Google Pixel 6 Pro or Realme G2 Neo2. Moto G200 also performed well in the Geekbench 5 test (1065 and 3282 points)
In practice, the Moto G200 is an unbreakable smartphone. The device is perfect can handle Android in version 11, which – as befits Motorola – is available in pure form and without overlays. Such excellent performance in combination with a 144 Hz screen is a real treat for fans Fortnite’a, Call of Duty Mobile and other smartphone games.
Moto G200 5G – as the name suggests – offers 5G connectivity, and fast modules Wi-Fi 6 i Bluetooth 5.2. We will find here too NFC module, which will enable us to pay via Google Pay. An interesting feature provided by the manufacturer is tryb Ready For, which allows you to easily connect an external screen to your smartphone – both wired and wireless.
Another interesting idea is to be able to use the Moto G200 as cameras website for PC. This is a useful functionality because – as we well know – the vast majority of laptops available on the market have terrible webcams.
DEVICE
The Motorola smartphone is equipped with a camera with three lenses:
- 108 MP, f/1.9 PDAF – main lens
- 8 MP, f / 2.2, AF – ultra wide angle lens
- 2 MP, f / 2.4 – depth detection lens
We also have a do-eye on the upper edge of the screen selfie photos (16 MP, f / 2.2).
How does this configuration work in practice? It is difficult to have reservations about photos taken during the day – the frames are clear and rich in detail, although the colors are sometimes too harsh.
Night shots are much worse. Here, the most important thing is the lack of optical image stabilization (OIS), which makes the frames very noisy at times, and too grainy. I was counting on more here, especially since in the past Motorola was able to squeeze much more from – theoretically – average lenses.
Equipment is an interesting solution ultra wide angle lens w dedicated marko mode (up to 3 cm). Motorola goes here in spite of the producers of many other smartphones from a similar shelf, who stubbornly throw into their devices almost useless macro lenses.
When it comes to video features, this the main lens records both in 8K (24 fps) and 4K (60 fps) resolutions and it must be admitted that the quality of the video materials looks really worthy. In turn, the front selfie camera records videos in Full HD quality and 30 fps.
DRUMS
Moto G200 has a battery about 5000 mAh capacity. On a single charge, the smartphone will last for about a day and a half, which is a very decent result. In the set with the device you will find a charger with a power 33Wthat will allow us to fill the battery from 1 to 100 percent in approx. 90 minutes.
SUMMARY
Moto G200 is the best smartphone from this manufacturer for years. It offers powerful Snapdragon 888+ chip, efficient batteries and the display with 144 Hz refresh rate (!). Despite some flaws and compromises, it is one of the best-priced models on the market, for which we will have to pay less than PLN 2,000 at the time of writing.
