The global smartphone market will continue to grow in 2025. This was reported in the report by International Data Corporation (IDC).

The agency analysts predicted that according to the results of 2025, the world smartphone market will grow by 2.3 percent, to 1.26 billion units. If this happens, then this will be the second year in a row: in the 2024th, the smartphone market segment increased by 6.1 percent.

The main market driver is called increased demand for Android smartphones, especially in China. There, users’ interest will support national subsidies and the need for consumers to update devices. The senior director of research in the IDC was found, it believes that the segment of the Android Smartphones will grow 40 percent faster than iOS devices.

On a global scale of the sale of Apple smartphones – the only iOS phone manufacturer – will increase by 1.8 percent. This will be due to strong growth in the main IT giant market in the United States. Apple’s consumers will fuel the release of the Apple Intelligence neural network and the emergence of the new iPhone 16e smartphone. Analysts believe that even 10 percent duties for imported goods in the United States will not slow down growth.

IDC experts predict that in the world the average cost of a smartphone in 2025 will increase to $ 434, or about 38 thousand rubles. By 2029, it will drop to $ 424 (37 thousand rubles).
