The ambassadors of 27 countries of the European Union (EU) approved the 16th package of sanctions, adding a ban on the import of game consoles into Russia. Reuters became known about this.

According to one of the diplomats with whom the agency’s journalists talked, the decision was agreed to ban the import of game consoles into Russia. Also, it will not be possible to import game gamepads and “aircraft systems” into the country, as European officials believe that with their help, Russian military manage drones.

Also in the 16th package of sanctions against Russia will be a ban on the import of aluminum, export of chromium and some chemicals, restrictions on transactions with Russian ports and airports. It is expected that new prohibitions will be officially adopted by the EU on February 24.

Earlier, the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Alexei Chep, condemned the decision of the EU countries to coordinate the 16th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. “The EU is making desperate attempts to protect himself and his policy,” Chepa remarked.
