The Verge: Amazon forbidden to download content on e -books via USB
The American Corporation Amazon, one of the leaders in the global electronic book market, introduced new restrictions against piracy. It is reported by The Verge.
Media journalists have found that from February 26, Amazon will disable the content of loading content to electronic books via USB. Thus, users will not be able to download literature and other data to their readers through the wire.
Amazon did not explain the reasons for the introduction of the ban, but the specialists of The Verge believe that in this way the corporation intends to deal with book piracy. It is believed that if users lose the opportunity to load books on the wire, then they will download them officially through the Amazon store and save to Wi-Fi electronic readers.
The authors of the publication noticed that the transfer of books on the wire still remains the most popular and convenient way to preserve literature on the device. But in Amazon they promote a way to download content via the Internet. Journalists said that the company sells books in KFX format, DRM protection from which it is almost impossible to remove.
Earlier, representatives of the XYZ School online school said that in 2024, Russian pirates most often downloaded the games Stalker and Warhammer 40,000. At the same time, experts noted the decency of gamers from Russia: 57 percent of players who downloaded the pirate version of the game, then bought a license copy.
