IFIXIT: Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra improved maintenance, but not up to the ideal
IFIXIT specialists evaluated the maintainability of the current Samsung flagship. This was reported on the website of the company.
Enthusiasts involved in the preparation of instructions for gadgets dismantled the Galaxy S25 Ultra and called it the most repaired Galaxy smartphone. However, the authors complained to some details of the device and noticed that “far from the ideal” and the device is quite difficult to repair at home.
Experts allocated a battery with special tongues, with which it can be easily extracted from the phone. They also noted the modular design of the main camera, but criticized Samsung engineers for the fact that the front camera is on the epoxy resin. In addition, they criticized the manufacturer because the S Pen stylus lost some smart functions that the predecessor had – in their opinion, this is unacceptable for the most expensive Samsung smartphone, which costs $ 1400, or about 132 thousand rubles.
“The overall picture is not so cloudless. Official repair manuals are dim, non -intuitive and complex, ”the authors of the report noted. They also noted that access to the details of the flagship may be difficult. On the basis of their observations, IFIXIT specialists put the Galaxy S25 Ultra in the repair rating of 5 out of 10 points.
At the end of September, IFIXIT researchers estimated the maintainability of the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max for 7 out of 10 points. They noted that Apple worked well on the design of the devices and significantly simplified the repair process.
