WP: British authorities will force Apple to disable user data encryption
The authorities of Great Britain may force Apple to disclose data about their users. This was reported by The Washington Post (WP).
The sources of the publication became known that the law enforcement agencies in the UK demanded that Apple create a backdor that allows you to access the personal information of any user around the world. We are talking about the data that the owner of the iPhone or other branded gadget loaded it into the cloud service of iCloud.
A non -public order of the British government appeared in January. According to WP journalists, the requirements of the UK authorities do not have famous precedents in large democracies. The newspaper experts noted that if Apple forces the encryption, the local authorities will be able to secretly spy on their citizens.
One of the informed sources said that Apple will also ban the warnings that encryption was disabled on their account. According to him, such a demand for the British authorities shocked him.
Newspaper journalists noted that Apple can go to court and appeal. However, under local laws, the American company will be obliged to comply with the requirements of the government, while its complaint will be considered in court.
In May 2024, American Corporations Apple and Google presented a service that will allow users to detect gadgets that follow them. The service works with Bluetooth-Mayades.
