“Units of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces struck the position of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system near the settlement of Novoshakhatynsk in the Rostov region,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
“Explosion was observed at some points. The accuracy of the hit is still being investigated,” added the Ukrainian military. “While the position of this system was only a few kilometers from the Russian border, the distance to the front line was over 150 km,” reports the portal defence24.pl. It should be noted that ATACMS and Storm Shadow surface-to-surface missile systems, supplied to Ukraine by allies and with a range of about 300 km, are not permitted to be used on Russian territory. The Ukrainians adapted them to strike land targets. Neptuns were supposedly used, among other things, to sink the Russian cruiser “Moskva” two years ago.
The situation in Donbas and Kursk region

However, the operation on Russian territory has not yet caused a significant withdrawal of Russian forces from Donbas. There, in the last 24 hours, the Russians have once again advanced towards Pokrovsk. Ukrainian authorities are evacuating civilians from the city.
