The Elec: Microsoft to Unveil Mixed Reality Glasses in 2026
The American corporation Microsoft has planned to release its own mixed reality glasses by 2026. This was reported by the Korean publication The Elec.
Media journalists learned about the company’s plans from sources. It turned out that Microsoft signed a contract with Samsung Display to supply micro-OLED displays. Insiders reported that the future device will be a mixed reality headset, i.e. it will be able to work with virtual and augmented reality.

The report lists the device as a competitor to the Vision Pro glasses that Apple launched in February 2024. Microsoft is said to have ordered a huge batch of micro-OLED screens from a Korean partner — literally hundreds of thousands of units. The sources said the gadget will be designed for entertainment and gaming.
According to the plan, Microsoft should introduce a new headset in 2026. At the same time, the corporation has its own mixed reality helmet, HoloLens, which the company sells to corporate users and government organizations, among other things.
In July, Bloomberg experts said that Apple would be unlikely to sell more than 500,000 copies of Vision Pro glasses by the end of 2024. Sales of the device fell due to a loss of user interest in the device.
