Android Authority: Xiaomi Refuses to Disable Ads on Its Smartphones
The Chinese corporation Xiaomi commented on rumors about disabling advertising in its smartphones. This was reported by the publication Android Authority.
In a conversation with media journalists, company representatives said that Xiaomi phones will not have a “single button” to disable advertising. In July, insiders spoke about a similar feature of HyperOS, on which all new Xiaomi smartphones operate.
“We are re-optimizing our business strategy in this regard to improve user experience by eliminating a number of pre-installed applications,” the corporation noted. At the same time, Xiaomi emphasized that such a switch, which could appear in the brand’s smartphones, would obviously be used by only a small number of users.
According to Android Authority, Xiaomi’s business strategy for years has been to sell gadgets below market value but display ads on them. Currently, to disable ad banners, you need to turn off the built-in MSA utility, as well as manually disable ads in all system applications.
In late July, Xiaomi announced plans to enter the global car market. The company’s executives said it would do so “at the right time” and emphasized that the company has ambitions to become one of the world’s top 5 automakers.
