ArsTechnica: iPhone Sales Decline Despite Apple’s Record Revenue
Apple Corporation has disclosed its results for the third quarter of the 2024 fiscal year. This was reported by the ArsTechnica publication.
The American company’s report says that iPhone revenue fell over the year — from $39.67 billion to $39.30 billion. At the same time, Apple said that iPhone 15 sales exceeded iPhone 14 sales. The company also noted that it set a record for quarterly revenue — it amounted to $85.8 billion.
Apple’s revenue in China, one of its most important markets, fell 6.3 percent to $14.7 billion, which media reporters say could be due to tough competition from Huawei and other local smartphone makers.
iPad revenue rose nearly 24 percent to $7.16 billion, which analysts attributed to the new iPad Pro and iPad Air. Wearables sales declined, while Macs grew.
According to the head of the corporation Tim Cook, iPhone sales should grow in the next quarter. The top manager of Apple linked this to the release of the iPhone 16 and the appearance of the artificial intelligence (AI) service Apple Intelligence on the brand’s devices.
Earlier, Counterpoint Research analysts stated that Apple devices topped the top 3 most popular smartphones on the global market. The iPhone 15 was recognized as the best-selling phone.
