Deputy Nemkin: Overheating of the phone, noise and echo are signs of wiretapping
Rapid overheating of the phone, as well as noise and echo during a call, are signs of wiretapping. Details were revealed by Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“If your phone’s battery drains faster than usual, frequently overheats, or you notice strange noises and echoes during calls, it could indicate the presence of spyware. These signs indicate that some processes are constantly running in the background, transmitting data to attackers,” Nemkin said.
The deputy advised Russians to pay attention to their mobile data consumption. He emphasized that spyware transmits the collected information via the Internet to the software owner.
Earlier, the head of the T1 Integration Information Security Competence Center Valery Stepanov revealed a scammers’ scheme for intercepting calls and SMS. According to him, there are several ways to gain access to phone calls and SMS messages. In particular, wiretapping a phone by intercepting and decoding GSM traffic.
