Samsung to Reduce Number of Flagships

Android Headlines: Samsung Has Abandoned the Release of the Galaxy S25 Flagship

Samsung Corporation will significantly reduce the number of flagship smartphones in its main line, Android Headlines reports.

According to sources, the company intends to abandon the Galaxy S25+, a smartphone with a larger screen diagonal. Thus, the series of phones planned for early 2025 will include only two devices – the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The reason why Samsung will reduce the number of flagships it produces is not disclosed. However, media journalists believe that the company is unhappy with the sales of devices with a large display diagonal.

Samsung traditionally releases three flagship devices every year – a basic one, a model with a larger display, and the top device of the series. However, the difference between the basic model and the device with a larger screen is becoming smaller and smaller, which makes it difficult for the user to decide on a purchase.

Android Headlines journalists believe that the series will include two devices whose positioning is clear to consumers – a basic smartphone and an advanced flagship.

Earlier, Samsung Corporation announced the date of the next Galaxy Unpacked presentation of gadgets. The event, where the foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 and the smart ring Galaxy Ring will be presented, will take place on July 10 in Paris.
