Oppo promised to add AI to all smartphones, including cheap devices
The Chinese company Oppo spoke about the appearance of artificial intelligence (AI) functions on its devices. This was reported in a press release on the company’s website.
Oppo previously promised that it would create a research and development center to create user-centric AI experiences. The company emphasized that artificial intelligence functions will be available on all smartphones of the brand, and not just on flagship gadgets.
“For the first time in the industry, Oppo is introducing generative artificial intelligence across its entire product line,” said Oppo spokesperson Billy Zhang. Thus, new functions will appear on all devices of the brand, including cheap devices.
The company said that it is collaborating on the development of AI with Microsoft and MediaTek corporations. In particular, the issues of fast data transfer between a smartphone and a computer are discussed. In conclusion, Oppo noted that the first AI functions will be available on branded phones to approximately 50 million users by the end of 2024.
At the end of May, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman said that Apple’s AI would work on the iPhone 15 Pro and newer devices. Therefore, all AI features will not be available on older iPhones.
