The US Department of State, among others, commented on the hacker attack, which may be behind Russian services. His representative said the department was “familiar with these reports” and that Washington was “in close contact with our counterparts in the Polish government.” He also added that the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs is “closely monitoring” the European elections in 2024 because it is in the US interest “that they are safe, free and fair.” – We call on all countries to refrain from hostile cyber activities aimed at destabilizing and undermining democratic processes and societies – appealed the representative of the US Department of State.

“The information necessary to explain the nature of this dangerous incident is being provided to the relevant services, we are working on strengthening security,” wrote PAP liquidator Marek Błoński and editor-in-chief Wojciech Tumidalski after the attack. They informed that the path used to enter the false message to the PAP website had been identified and blocked. The matter is already being investigated by the Internal Security Agency and the Ministry of Digitization. Prime Minister Donald Tusk also reacted to the attack on PAP.
