The Elec: Apple delayed production of iPhone 16 Pro Max due to problems
Production of Apple’s new flagship will begin later than planned due to problems with the smartphone’s components. This was reported by the Korean publication The Elec.
As media sources have learned, Apple has approved the start of production of displays for the iPhone 16, 16 Plus and 16 Pro. However, the production of front panels for the most expensive phone in the series, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, cannot begin due to the components not meeting quality standards.
Insiders did not specify why there were problems with the production of displays for the 16 Pro Max, but they noted that the release of the flagship may be delayed and disrupted for some time. At the beginning of April, The Elec’s sources already reported that technical difficulties arose during the development of displays for new Apple smartphones, but they were resolved.
As it became known, the front OLED panels for new Apple devices will be produced by three companies: Samsung received an order to produce displays for all four models, LG – iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, BOE – iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. Apple is expected to approve display components for the 16 Pro Max by the end of May, but they won’t pass quality control until at least mid-June.
Earlier, well-known analyst Ross Young said that the American corporation Apple would launch production of new smartphones in the summer. In June, suppliers will launch the first batch of front panels of the iPhone 16 series.
