Follow Santa’s tour on Christmas Eve in Santa Tracker and Norad

Each year, the North American Aerospace Defense Command and Google list on their maps the trajectory of where Santa Claus is going around the world on December 24.

Not even the Covid19 pandemic stops Santa Claus this Christmas Eve 2021. The good-natured Christmas character in a red suit will make his annual tour around the planet to distribute gifts to all who still believe in him.

Children and adults can follow the trajectory of Santa Claus live from their homes through the interactive maps that they prepare each year Google and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (Norad, in English).

Santa Tracker is an annual website first launched in 2004 by Google that simulates the legendary Santa’s journey on Christmas Eve, using predetermined location information. It also allows users to play, watch, and learn through activities added daily in December. The Santa Tracker is locked until December 24th.

In 2020 and 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves are depicted with face masks.

It is worth mentioning that the Santa Tracker was inspired by the NORAD Tracks Santa map, which has been operating since 1955 and differs in its animations and complementary applications. The simulation of the St. Nicholas route is also different, so the two websites show that Santa appears to be in two different places at the same time.

The tour of the world is in order, as night falls. It begins in the Pacific Ocean, perhaps on the island of Samoa, which is the first place in the world to arrive at midnight on the 24th.

On the map you can see how Santa will continue his journey to the west, passing through continental Asia, then the Middle East, Africa, Europe, until he reaches the American continent, always just at midnight in each place.
