Bloomberg: Apple will implement ChatGPT features in the new version of iOS

Apple intends to introduce the functions of the popular ChatGPT chatbot into iPhone smartphones and other devices. A corresponding agreement has been concluded with OpenAI, a startup in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), Bloomberg writes, citing sources.

The technology will appear in the new version of the iOS 18 operating system and will be announced at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June. Apple is also in talks with Google to license Alphabet’s Gemini chatbot. The terms of the transaction are negotiated.

Previously, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that he often uses ChatGPT and is “delighted” by its potential. However, the entrepreneur believes that the service has a number of problems that need to be solved. The company intends to spend about a billion dollars a year on generative AI. In October 2023, Apple planned to create a competitor to this in-demand chatbot.
