The Cupertino company started its presentation with the latest iPad Air, which will now be available in two variants. The standard model with an 11-inch screen is now joined by a larger 13-inch iPad Air, which – as the manufacturer boasts – offers a 30 percent larger screen area.
Both models are equipped with the Liquid Retina matrix with anti-reflective coating and True Tone technology, standard for this series. The most important novelty in the design is the relocation of the front camera (12 MP) to the longer side of the device.
Placing the camera in a new location is ideal because most users use iPad in landscape orientation, such as when they connect with family and friends via FaceTime or participate in a video conference using an iPad Air connected to a keyboard.
– explains Apple.

The rear camera of the iPad Air also has a 12 MP matrix. It allows you to record 4K video as well as slow-motion videos (240 fps). As for audio, we have two microphones and stereo speakers in horizontal orientation with surround sound support.
Both devices are powered by the M2 chip with an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU. Apple also boasts greater memory bandwidth compared to the iPad Air with the M1 chip. Overall, the new Air is expected to be up to 50 percent faster in most applications compared to its predecessor. There is also support for Wi-Fi 6E and 5G standards. As with previous generations of iPad Air, there is no FaceID technology known from iPhones. A fingerprint reader located in the top button is used to unlock the device and authorize it.
iPad Pro Apple
iPad Pro now with the new M4 chip and Apple Pencil Pro
We could count on more news when it came to the presentation of iPad Pro. They are still available in two variants – 11-inch and 13-inch, but now have a completely new Ultra Retina XDR display with an OLED matrix.
The Ultra Retina XDR display features ultra-modern tandem OLED technology that uses the accumulated light of two OLED panels to guarantee fantastic brightness across the entire screen surface.
– explains the company.
The use of an organic OLED matrix obviously translates into better contrast and deeper blacks. What’s more – as Apple claims – without harming the display brightness, which is standard 1000 nits (in both SDR and HDR mode). The peak brightness is 1600 nits.
As for the design, it is clearly visible that Apple has “lightened” the device’s casing. The 11-inch model is now 5.3 mm thick, and the 13-inch model is even less thick, 5.1 mm. The 11-inch iPad Pro weighs less than half a kilogram, and the 13-inch is over 100 grams lighter than its predecessor.
The real star of the evening, however, was the new Apple M4 chip, which once again offers a solid performance increase over its predecessor. iPad Pro will be the first devices to be equipped with this chip.
Apple M4 Apple
Made in 3 nanometer technology, the M4 system has a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. As Apple emphasizes, the graphics system in the M4 is an extension of the GPU architecture used in the M3. It is equipped with mesh shading and ray tracing technologies, which will be available to iPad users for the first time.
Both devices have a set of two cameras. The main one (12 MP) allows you to record video in 4K resolution with ProRes technology. In turn, the front camera (11 MP), similarly to the new Air models, is placed on the longer side of the device. The new iPad Pro also includes a USB-C connector with Thunderbolt/USB 4 support and FaceID technology. As for audio, we have four speakers and four studio-quality microphones. There is support for Wi-Fi 6E and 5G standards.
The Apple Pencil Pro stylus also debuts with the new iPad Pro. Its body houses a sensor that opens the palette when squeezed, allowing you to quickly change the tool, line thickness or color without interrupting your work. A special haptic indicator generates a delicate impulse in response to squeezing or double-tapping, as well as when the intelligent shape is closed.
