CIRP: iPhone 15 Pro Max became Apple’s best-selling smartphone
Specialists from the Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) agency named the most popular Apple smartphone models. This was reported in the company’s report.
According to information for March 2024, the iPhone 15 Pro Max turned out to be the most popular Apple device. Its share of the US market among other Apple devices was 23 percent. In second position with a share of 22 percent was the iPhone 15 Pro, in third were two smartphones with a share of 14 percent, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15.
In March 2023, a similar situation persisted. Thus, the market was led by the flagships iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro, which received a share of 24 and 22 percent, respectively.
At the same time, Apple’s basic smartphones have become less popular than usual. Thus, in March 2024, the share of iPhone 15 was 14 percent. The share of iPhone 14 a year ago was 19 percent, that is, every fifth buyer purchased an entry-level device.
“We suspect there is some economic pressure to cut costs when possible, and the trend toward sustainability and not always wanting is the newest thing,” the analysts noted. In their opinion, users often choose expensive smartphones in order to update them less often.
At the end of April, CIRP analysts said that iPhone sales in the US in the spring fell to a record high. The share of Apple smartphones was 33 percent, the lowest figure in the last six years.
