Guang Ming Daily: Huawei Pura 70 smartphone can “undress” people in photos
Artificial intelligence (AI) in new Huawei smartphones is capable of “undressing” people in photographs. The Chinese publication Guang Ming Daily drew attention to this.
According to media journalists, Huawei Pura 70 series devices contain AI functions that can edit photos – in particular, remove unnecessary objects in pictures. Some of the first users of the devices said on social networks that AI can, among other things, “undress” people.
Consumers shared images showing that the phone’s built-in neural network is capable of removing certain items of clothing from people in photographs. However, Huawei did not talk about this function. Users who found it in Huawei Pura 70 gadgets noted that the option works quite effectively.
Huawei responded to messages on social networks. The corporation said that AI-based retouching tools are indeed capable of removing some details in photographs, but the function does not work as expected. Representatives of the company promised to fix the problems in the next update.
In mid-April, Huawei introduced a new flagship line of smartphones, Pura 70. It included four devices, the most expensive of which was priced at least 9,999 yuan, or about 127 thousand rubles.
