Ookla: 5G iPhone 15 Internet speed was lower than Samsung Galaxy S24
Apple’s flagships were inferior to new Samsung smartphones in Internet speed tests. This was reported by 9to5Mac with reference to a report from Ookla.
As part of testing, Ookla compared the speed at which the current flagships of Apple and Samsung transmit data. It turned out that Samsung Galaxy S24 devices demonstrated higher median 5G performance than iPhone 15 devices.
The data was collected based on Internet speed measurements around the world between February 1 and March 24. Samsung Galaxy S24 phones showed a statistically significant advantage in average 5G download speeds in 7 out of 15 countries. Thus, in the USA, the Internet speed on the iPhone 15 turned out to be 34 megabits per second lower than that of Samsung flagships – 273 versus 307 megabits per second.
Analysts noted that the highest 5G speed was recorded in the UAE. Here, the average speed on Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones was 828 megabits per second, iPhone 15 – 819 megabits per second.
Earlier, sources from the Korea Times found out that Samsung Corporation has regained its status as the leading smartphone manufacturer in the world. Samsung received a 20 percent share, Apple – 18 percent.
