Bloomberg: Apple’s AI will run on iPhone without Internet access
Apple has decided how artificial intelligence (AI)-related features will work on smartphones. Bloomberg reports this.
According to agency observer Mark Gurman, the corporation decided that the main AI functions would be launched locally on the brand’s smartphones. That is, they will not need access to the Internet and cloud servers to operate.
Gurman said that thanks to this approach, working with AI will be more confidential, since all data will remain in the device’s memory. Also, more advanced AI capabilities may appear on the iPhone, already associated with connecting to an external server for data processing.
According to the insider, the new features will be processed using Google Gemini or another tool. AI support should also appear on other devices of the brand.
At the end of December, Apple specialists described a new way of working with generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools on smartphones. In their opinion, to process operations, you can use the device’s permanent memory rather than RAM.
