Android Authority: Pixel 8a will have a 120Hz OLED display
The budget smartphone Google Pixel 8a will have an OLED display with a frequency of 120 hertz (Hz) and fast charging at 27 watts (W). The price and characteristics of the device were revealed by Android Authority, citing a source.
According to the portal, the new smartphone will have a small 6.1-inch OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and an image refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Google Tensor G3 chip, which is used in the flagship Pixel 8, will be responsible for its performance. The device’s memory capacity will be 128 and 256 gigabytes (GB).
According to the portal’s source, the Pixel 8a will receive a two-camera system: a 64-megapixel (MP) main camera with optical stabilization and an ultra-wide-angle one with a resolution of 13 MP. Similar sensors were used in the Pixel 7a smartphone.
Among other characteristics, the publication noted the pre-installed operating system (OS) Android 14, a 4500 mAh battery with support for 27 W fast charging. Whether the device will support wireless charging, like the previous model, is not specified. The smartphone will be presented in May, the device will cost from 500 to 550 dollars (46-51 thousand rubles).
At the end of March, XDA specialists found out that Android 15 will support satellite communications for all smartphones. The announcement of the new OS is expected on May 14.
In mid-March, Google announced the date of the annual Google I/O conference – it will take place on May 14. The Android 15 operating system will probably be presented at the event.
