Microsoft will send Windows 10 into a well-deserved retirement on October 14, 2025. The company announced this decision in 2019, almost five years ago. Both companies and home users had a lot of time to switch to the successor of this system, i.e. Windows 11.
However, not everyone decided to take this step. Some people are strongly attached to “Ten”, which is currently considered one of the most successful editions of Windows. In the case of many computers, the problem is the lack of compatibility with Windows 11. Let us remind you that the latest version of the Microsoft system requires the presence of a TPM module of at least version 1.2.
that after the end of support for Windows 10, up to 240 million computers around the world will become “electronic waste” due to lack of compatibility with the latest version of Windows.
Windows 11 is retiring. Do you want to continue using it? pay
announced that even after the end of support for Windows 11, users will still be able to benefit from security updates. But not for free. The ESU (Extend Security Updates) package for Windows 10 will cost $61 (approximately PLN 250) in the first year. This price is for one computer (station). If we want to extend the update for another year, the amount will increase to $120, and in the third year – up to $240. The offer applies to both companies and private users.
At the same time, Microsoft has prepared an offer for companies that use its cloud solutions. They will be able to count on a 25 percent discount. And it is certain that some Microsoft customers will take advantage of such an offer. In some cases, extending the “validity” of Windows 10 may prove to be more profitable (at least in the short term) than replacing hundreds or thousands of computers with new ones.
