IDC: Apple accounted for 51.9 percent of the US smartphone market in 2023
Analysts at International Data Corporation (IDC) said Apple has captured more than half of the US smartphone market. This was reported by PhoneArena.
The American manufacturer accounted for 51.9 percent. Over the year, the leading company increased its share by 1.4 percent, selling 68 million iPhones in the home market. Samsung remained in second place with a share of 22.4 percent—over the year, shipments of the brand’s smartphones fell by 19 percent. In third place was Lenovo, which received a share of 8 percent.
Analysts noted that the Chinese corporation TCL showed the highest growth over the specified period – its deliveries increased by 8.1 percent. At the same time, the year for smartphone manufacturers as a whole was unsuccessful. In 2023, 130.6 million devices were shipped to the US market, a year-over-year decline of 6.9 percent.
