New iPhones will get rid of protective glass

The iPhone 17 screen will receive an ultra-durable anti-glare coating

Apple smartphones planned for 2025 will be released with a reinforced protective coating on the front panel. Chinese blogger Instant Digital announced this on his Weibo account.

According to a well-known expert, Apple has spent billions of dollars developing a new glass that protects the iPhone screen. The heavy-duty front panel was created in Japan. It will most likely appear in iPhone 17 devices planned for 2025.

Instant Digital also said that the new anti-reflective coating will be so durable that smartphone users will be able to get rid of protective films and glass. “It will be more scratch-resistant than you might imagine,” the author noted.

Apple already uses built-in Ceramic Shield protective glass in its smartphones, which supposedly reduces the likelihood of scratches and cracks on the iPhone screen if dropped. At the same time, the protective coating does not degrade the brightness of the image on the display.

In mid-February, insiders said that Apple smartphones planned for 2024 could receive record-breaking built-in memory. So, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max should receive up to two terabytes of memory.
