The failure of McDonald’s systems affected the network in various countries. The chain’s customers reported problems with placing orders via the application or in the so-called self-service kiosk. McDonald’s rules out a deliberate attack by hackers on its IT systems. The problem also appeared in Poland.

Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, China and Sweden – this is the list of countries where on Friday there were problems with ordering McDonald’s via the app or at the self-service kiosk in the restaurant. McDonald’s has a worldwide failure of its IT systems. It also affected Poland.

Customers complain about orders not working at McDonald’s

“McDonald’s restaurants in Poland were temporarily closed due to a technological failure. Currently, all restaurants are operational. The incident is not related to cybersecurity. We apologize to our guests for the inconvenience caused by this situation and thank you for your patience,” Katarzyna JÄ™drek-Giza told Next.gazeta.pl from the McDonald’s press office.

Restaurant customers complained on social media about problems at the restaurant. One of them from Birmingham, UK writes on the X platform: “Hmmm McDonald’s is rejecting all my orders, saying there is a nationwide outage in the ordering system?”

Another from the East Midlands asks: “why was I able to order on the app this morning but all McDonald’s locations are closed when they should be open 24 hours a day?!” There are more similar posts on social media from around the world.

Not all local McDonald’s branches confirmed the failure. He has done this so far, among others: a company spokesman in Japan, who said McDonald’s had stopped accepting orders for technical reasons. However, he assured that the company is working to solve the problem.

Earlier in the day, a McDonald’s Australia spokesperson confirmed that the outage was affecting restaurants across the country. confirmed this information.
