9to5Mac: Apple will introduce a laptop with a foldable display no earlier than 2027
Apple has begun developing the brand’s first folding laptop. This was reported by 9to5Mac.
According to insider Ming-Chi Ko, the corporation is actively studying options for gadgets with a folding display. Moreover, Ko named the MacBook, which will have a flexible screen, as the device with the clearest development schedule. The gadget should come with a 20.3-inch display.
The active production phase of the device should begin in 2027. Accordingly, the company will release a foldable MacBook no earlier than this year. The specialist also believes that in the coming years the company will not introduce either a foldable iPhone or a foldable iPad.
Media journalists recalled that in 2022, Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young reported that Apple was exploring the folding laptop market. That same year, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman said that Apple was interested in releasing a MacBook with a folding 20-inch screen.
At the end of February, insiders said that Apple had suspended the development and production of the first foldable iPhone. During the inspection, it turned out that none of the device prototypes met the company’s quality standards.
