Apple named countries in which you can install applications bypassing the App Store
Apple has explained in which countries alternative app stores for the iPhone will operate. This was reported by 9to5Mac.
The corporation noted that in the near future it will be possible to install alternative stores with applications on branded smartphones. The function will be linked to the iPhone’s geolocation and Apple ID account. Representatives of the IT giant named the countries in which the option to install programs bypassing the App Store will be available.
Third-party app stores will operate in 27 EU countries – Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta , the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
The support document states that if an iPhone user leaves one of the above countries, their right to use alternative stores will be revoked. However, Apple offered a grace period, the terms of which were not disclosed. During this time, consumers will be able to leave the EU country and use third-party applications.
In late January, Apple said it would allow users in the European Union (EU) to download apps from third-party sources, not just the Apple App Store. Innovations will appear in iOS 17.4
