MacRumors: Apple has withdrawn from sale the MacBook Air laptop on the M1 chip
Apple has withdrawn from sale the first laptop based on Apple Silicon. This was reported by MacRumors.
After the announcement of the MacBook Air on the M3 chip, the page with the MacBook Air on the M1 processor disappeared from the company’s website. This means that the device has been declared obsolete. The device, released at the end of 2020, turned out to be the first Apple computer based on a proprietary processor.
Tim Cook Corporation also removed the MacBook Air with the M2 chip and 15-inch display from sale. This device was introduced in mid-2023.
Thus, at the moment, the most affordable laptop from Apple – the MacBook Air 13 on the M2 processor – is priced at $999. 13-inch and 15-inch models with the M3 chip are available for a minimum of $1,099 and $1,299.
In early February, retailers said that in 2023, Russians sharply increased purchases of MacBook Air and Pro laptops from the American brand Apple, which had left the Russian Federation. The share of branded laptops over this period of time increased compared to 2022 by a percentage point, to 6 percent.
