Smartphones compatible with iOS 18 named

The next Apple operating system will be available on iPhones with the A12 Bionic processor and newer devices. This was reported by MacRumors.

Media journalists referred to a reputable insider who wished to remain anonymous. According to him, iOS 18 can be installed on the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xr, released in 2018. These devices received the A12 Bionic processor.

Accordingly, iOS 18 will be received by devices of the iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 series. The OS will also be available on iPhone SE of the second and third generations. Journalists noticed that the insider named the same devices that are compatible with iOS 17, released in 2023.

Since September 2019, Apple’s mobile operating system has been divided into iOS and iPadOS – systems for smartphones and tablets. Sources believe that the new iPadOS will be available on the 2020 iPad, 2019 iPad mini, 2019 iPad Air, 2018 iPad Pro, and newer gadgets. The announcement of iOS 18 is expected in the summer, the public version should be released in September-October.

At the end of January, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman said that iOS 18 would include support for RCS messages and a “smarter” Siri. In addition, the OS will add support for photos and videos in higher resolution, audio messages, and typing indicators.
