SamMobile: Samsung led the global TV market for 18 years

The South Korean corporation Samsung was named the main TV manufacturer in the world. This was reported by SamMobile.

According to the analytical company Omdia, Samsung has held a leading position in the TV market for 18 years in a row. Experts noted that the Korean IT giant first headed the segment in 2006. At the end of 2023, the company’s market share was 30.1 percent.

The analysts’ material states that Samsung has a wide variety of TVs in its assortment. Thus, the corporation retained its first position in the segment of ultra-premium devices costing over $2,500 with a share of 60.5 percent. Moreover, in 2022, Samsung’s share in this segment was 48.3 percent.

Also in 2022, the company began selling OLED TVs, since then it has delivered more than a million units to the market. At the beginning of 2024, Samsung introduced the QD-OLED line. “We will continue to introduce various innovations that can make consumers’ daily lives more valuable in the future,” said the company’s top manager, Yeon Seok Woo. According to him, the corporation now intends to concentrate on producing devices with a Micro LED screen.

Earlier it became known that Samsung will disable Google’s voice assistant on all its TVs on March 1. The company did not explain the refusal of Google Assistant.
