WU: smart earrings will record the temperature of the user and the environment
Scientists at the University of Washington (WU) have developed a concept for a new type of wearable technology designed to collect health indicators. This is reported on the institution’s website.
Experts have designed smart earrings that are attached to the earlobe and are capable of collecting various information. First of all, the device will record the temperature of the user and the environment. The information obtained will be useful for tracking stress, illness, exercise, eating habits or women’s health trends.
According to the project’s author, graduate student Qiuyue Xue, the earrings invented by WA scientists collect data on vital signs more accurately than smartwatches and fitness trackers that are usually worn on the wrist. This was confirmed by a study in which six volunteers took part.
The material states that smart earrings can operate on a single charge for up to 28 days; the device transmits data to a smartphone via Bluetooth. According to experts, in the future they will completely solve the problem of autonomy: the device will be charged using solar or kinetic energy.
Earlier, insiders said that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Ring with a smart watch in July. The device will allow you to track indicators of health, well-being and sleep.
