Android Authority: Galaxy AI assistant coming to Samsung Galaxy S23
Samsung will add artificial intelligence (AI) features to older smartphones. Android Authority reports this.
On January 17, the company introduced the new flagships of the Galaxy S24 series, which also received an assistant based on Galaxy AI. Later, Samsung said that the virtual assistant will be available on the brand’s early devices. It is known that Galaxy AI will be added to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 smartphones, as well as the Galaxy Tab S9 tablets.
Media journalists have found that devices released in 2023 will not have all the capabilities of a virtual assistant. On older devices, they will add the Circle to Search search function, a service for automatically creating notes and editing photos, as well as a live translation option during phone calls.
The authors of the publication noted that some AI functions will remain only on the new Samsung flagships. These include a service for writing and editing replies to messages, transcribing voice recordings into text, “smart” wallpaper and other features.
In January, it became known that the Galaxy AI artificial intelligence (AI) assistant introduced on Samsung smartphones turned out to be paid. The user agreement states that the service will be free until the end of 2025.
