The long-awaited Vision Pro goggles appeared in Apple showrooms in the US a few days ago, and the Internet has already been flooded with dozens of videos showing users of this equipment on sidewalks, in restaurants and in cars. The goggles receive mixed reviews, but it also turns out that they cause a huge problem when their owner decides to get rid of the equipment.
Do you want to change your password? Get ready for a trip to the Apple showroom
One of the problems with goggles turns out to be such a trivial process as changing the password. We can easily perform this process on any, even the cheapest, smartphone with iOS and Android. However, this function was not included in Apple Vision Pro. that there was no option to change or remove the password in the goggles settings. This puts people in an awkward situation who decide to sell or rent goggles that cost a fortune ($3,499 + tax).
There are people who have already forgotten their PIN or password for their new goggles. On the one hand, because resetting Vision Pro to factory settings requires… entering a password. On the other hand, after several unsuccessful attempts to enter the PIN, the goggles are automatically blocked. Another attempt at unlocking can be made after some time, but if this also fails, the system will be blocked permanently.
In each of the above cases, users are ultimately forced to contact Apple service. You have to pack the goggles in a box and send them by courier to the manufacturer or take them on a trip to an Apple showroom. There, the company’s technicians are apparently able to deal with the problem on site.
Apple does not comment on whether changing the password in Vision Pro was made intentionally difficult, but such cases do not make the best impression on people willing to spend several thousand zlotys on goggles. Let’s hope Apple finds a way to deal with the problem and allow users to change their passwords in a slightly easier way.
Ultra-expensive goggles receive mixed reviews. But they are still a hit in the US
Aside from the unexpected hassle of changing your password, Goggles has had mixed reviews. On the one hand, they offer amazing possibilities and a pleasant user experience. On the other hand, for some users they are definitely too heavy to spend a long time with them on their heads, they require an external battery and allow a relatively short operating time on a single charge. And of course, they are absurdly expensive.
However, Apple Vision Pro is still a hit in the US. On the X website you will find dozens of videos of people using goggles on the subway, on a plane or in a restaurant. Some people decided to go for a walk with their dog or even drive a car in them. To be precise, the latter activity is strongly discouraged by Apple, and appropriate warnings are even available on the manufacturer’s website.
