Microsoft will finally introduce an important change to Windows 11. The first one in 17 years

Microsoft has decided to thoroughly rejuvenate one of the most important elements of Windows 11, from which many users start their adventure with the new system. This will be the first change to this element since the infamous Windows Vista.

Microsoft from time to time decides to add new functions to Windows 11 or Almost always, however, the changes concern elements around the system that we potentially use on a daily basis. This time, the American company will take on an element that has apparently been somewhat forgotten.

The forgotten element of Windows. Microsoft hasn’t changed it since Vista

This is the Windows 11 installer itself, i.e. a tool that allows you to install the operating system immediately after purchasing or assembling the computer (or while reinstalling Windows). Of course, there is a group of laptop users who have never had to use this element, but some others from time to time have to struggle with a tool that has not undergone any major changes since the premiere of Windows Vista in… January 2007 (17 years ago ).

A new, completely refreshed system installer has been added to Windows 11 in its test version (Insider Preview Build 26040). The first thing that catches the eye is the changed user interface, which has been rejuvenated and is supposed to look neater and more modern, although it still differs slightly from the visual standard of Windows 11.

At the same time, the new installer does not differ from the previous one in terms of functionality. All previously existing functions can be found in the installer after the changes. Unfortunately, not everything. One of the Internet users said that after clicking the technical support button, a window with a link to a page that cannot be opened is displayed. The only solution is… to manually rewrite it to the web browser on another device.

Microsoft will probably fix such shortcomings before the installer is made available to general users. When will it happen? It is not known yet. Perhaps on the occasion of the next major update of Windows 11, although some suggest that we will have to wait until the premiere of Windows 12, which should take place this or next year.
