A three-month-old baby of Ecuadorian descent was taken to a hospital after being found unconscious at the Queens County Inn & Suites, specifically a hotel used as a shelter for asylum seekers in Queens.

Police said they received a 911 call before 3pm on Sunday reporting the newborn had passed out.

Given the situation, emergency services decided to transfer the baby to a hospital, but she was pronounced dead there.

According to the portal UnivisionAn attempt is being made to determine if the bestie might have had a health problem and it was confirmed that the family was Ecuadorian, plus the mother has other children and they have been living in the place for about a year.

A hotel employee told several media outlets that the family was not causing any problems there and that there were at least four other immigrant families there.

One of the events commemorated on the spot was the suicide of a 26-year-old young man who was with a child and his mother. This happened in 2022.

Also in 2023, a woman committed suicide in a Queen’s shelter and a child was found dead in another hotel that functions as a shelter late last year. (JO)
