An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 was felt this Sunday at noon in the center of Colombia but without causing casualties or damage, according to the authorities’ initial assessment.
He Colombian Geological Survey (SGC) reported that the quake occurred at 12:19 local time (17:19 GMT) and that the epicenter was at a depth of 149 kilometers at a point called Mesa de los Santos, in the department of Santander, with large seismic activity . because there is a geological fault running through it.

The quake was mainly felt in the center of the country, in cities such as Bucaramanga, the capital of Santander; in Bogotá, Medellín and Cúcuta, among others.
This earthquake occurred just two days after another magnitude 5.6 earthquake shook the center and south of the country at dawn last Friday.
On that occasion, the epicenter of the earthquake was six kilometers from the city Ansermanuevoin the north of the Valle del Cauca department, on the border with the departments of the coffee zone, and at a depth of 33 kilometers.
