Musk in Krakow and Auschwitz

reported that Elon Musk would come to Poland to take part in a conference organized by the European Jewish Association. It has, among others, participate in a discussion on anti-Semitism led by right-wing publicist Ben Shapiro. The founder of Tesla and SpaceX and the owner of Portal X is also scheduled to visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. Musk would meet with Wałęsa on Monday. “The former president, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, has already received permission from doctors to fly by plane, so he should reach Krakow without any problems,” informs mycompany.pl. The topic of the conversation is not known yet. It is also possible that the next day Wałęsa will join the American billionaire during his visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Mycompanypolska.pl portal. previously stated that during Musk’s visit to Poland there could also be a meeting with the management of the Ministry of Digitization, but as the ministry said, there are no such plans. “We would like to kindly inform you that there are no ongoing talks regarding the meeting of Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski with Elon Musk” – to the head of the technology department at Next Gazeta.pl.

Czarnek invited Musk to prison

After information appeared that Musk would appear in Poland, the former Minister of Education in the PiS government, MP Przemysław Czarnek, made an unusual request to the billionaire. He invited Musk, among others. to the prison in Radom and to Przytuły Stare near Ostrołęka, where Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik are imprisoned. The former Minister of Education informed the billionaire that “for the first time since 1989 we have political prisoners in Poland” and that “the attack on the Polish media, courts and broadly understood freedom is ongoing.”

Internet users quickly noticed that Czarnek, when writing to Elon Musk, most likely used a free tool to translate text from Polish to English. On this occasion, the former Prime Minister and President of the National Bank of Poland advised him to improve his English. “Polish your English, please” – wrote Marek Belka.

“Have you heard of communicative language? No one has to confirm that they graduated from Oxford,” Teresa Bochwic, former vice-chairman of the National Broadcasting Council, replied to him. Czarnek’s entry was also commented on by, among others: MP of the Civic Platform, Marcin Józefaciuk. “Thank you for editing the spelling, but the passive voice, perfect tense, continuous tense, prepositions and phrases need to be corrected. I am writing seriously – I recommend myself for the future. After all, we represent Poland outside,” he wrote.

Przemysław Czarnek responded to the criticism in a video posted on Tik Tok. – I invited Elon Musk, who is coming to Auschwitz for a conference. I asked him to visit our political prisoners in Radom and Przytuły Stare after this event. Well, those who speak English fluently noticed some irregularities in my communicative English – emphasized the PiS MP and said in three languages: “If you wish, we can talk in English/German/Italian.” You can read more about the video posted online by the former head of MEiN in the text below:

Elon Musk accused of anti-Semitism

Both Elon Musk himself and the X platform he manages (formerly Twitter) have been facing accusations of anti-Semitism for many months. Last year, the Jerusalem Post published a study which showed that after Elon Musk acquired Twitter, there was a significant increase in anti-Semitic content on the website.

In November last year, one of the X users posted an entry promoting an absurd conspiracy theory that Jews would promote hatred towards “whites”. He suggested, among other things, that they are responsible for bringing to the United States large numbers of immigrants who are “flooding the country.” Elon Musk commented on the post referring to this theory with the words: “you told the real truth.” He also added that “not all Jewish communities” promote “racism against whites and Asians.”

Musk’s comment caused a wave of outrage. On behalf of the White House, spokesman Andrew Bates published a statement in which he called the billionaire’s entry “unacceptable.” “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this abhorrent promotion of anti-Semitic and racist hatred that is contrary to our fundamental values as Americans,” it said. Andrew Bates stressed that repeating such terrible lies is always unacceptable, especially a month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. He was referring to the October 7 attack on Israel by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.

Reuters reported that Disney, Warner Bros Discovery and Comcast, Lions Gate Entertainment (LGFa.N), Paramount Global (PARA.O), Sony Pictures and Apple stopped advertising on the website under the influence of Elon Musk’s anti-Semitic post. The billionaire, in turn, announced that he would file a lawsuit against “all people who participated in this fraudulent attack on the company.” He also very strongly denied that his post was anti-Semitic.
