The POT lost contact with his small helicopter “Resourcefulness” on Mars, which was making its 72nd flight, the US space agency announced it wanted to restore communications.
The helicopter, which looks like a large drone, was delivered in 2021 the first motorized vehicle to fly on another planet. It had arrived on Mars with the Perseverance rover, which is used as a relay to exchange data between the helicopter and the command on Earth.

“Ingenuity” reached a height of 40 feet during its flight on Thursday, NASA explained in a message released Friday evening. But “During the descent, communications between the helicopter and the rover ended before landing”, detailed NASA.

NASA has temporarily lost contact with the helicopter in the past, most notably for about two months last year, but the break was planned. (JO)
