WhatsApp introduced Channels and since then it has been developing the new element of the app, adding more features. This time, the messenger announced the introduction of several new features that will make it easier to use not only for administrators, but also for users.
Four new features in WhatsApp. They will make it easier to use the Channels
Channels allow companies or organizations to communicate with users one-way. They work in a way similar to fan pages on social networking sites and allow you to send text messages and publish photos, stickers and videos. They allow – as WhatsApp itself explains – a reliable and privacy-preserving way to receive important updates from the organizations and people you follow.
Now Mark Zuckerberg (CEO of Meta, the owner of WhatsApp) has announced four new features of the messenger on his channel. The application will be enriched with the ability to create (by administrators) and listen to (by users) notes and voice messages, which have long been available in chat communications between individual users.
Another interesting new feature is the ability for administrators to create and publish surveys (including multiple-choice surveys). Thanks to this function, users will be able to influence possible decisions of the observed company or organization. Surveys have been available on many social networking sites and instant messengers (including group conversations on WhatsApp) for years. It is therefore puzzling that Meta managed to add the function to Channels only now.
The next two new features are less important from the perspective of the users themselves. Zuckerberg announced the possibility of creating more than one administrator for a given channel and allowing them to upload the most important content directly to the channel status. New functions are still being tested and will probably be available to users soon. However, the exact date of their introduction has not been announced yet.
