The Verge: Samsung talks about the development of the Galaxy Ring smart ring
Samsung Corporation announced the development of a smart ring. This was reported by The Verge.
At the Galaxy Unpacked event, company representatives showed a short teaser of the Galaxy Ring. The corporation said that the device in a new form factor will take the capabilities of the Samsung Health platform “to the next level”: “We have created a powerful and affordable health and wellness device that can change the face of the future of health.”
Samsung did not disclose any details or share the release date of the device. The authors of the blog DC Rainmaker studied the announcement video and noticed that the ring has three touch sensors – probably for collecting data on vital signs. Also seen in the video were four copper pins, which likely act as a physical interface.
“We assume that the smart ring will be released in the summer, along with a new line of smart watches from Samsung,” the blog authors concluded.
On January 17, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S24 line of flagship smartphones. The devices received an AMOLED display, an Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and support for the Galaxy AI virtual assistant.
